Cool City Electronics Inc.,

automatic flight control systems
and stability augmentation systems
for helicopters, announced it has
received FAA technical standard
order authorization for its FT-100
Force Trim System for helicopters.
The STC for its installation in the
Robinson R44 has been completed
and the STC issuance is pending.
The new FT-100 holds the cyclic
in place using a Force Gradient
System that provides a “force feel”
as the control is moved away from
its center “engage” position. The
system gives the pilot short-term

Force Trim System, when installed
with the company’s SAS-100 Stability
Augmentation System, becomes
an SFT-100 (SASPlus), a low-cost
combination that gives additional

effects of turbulence and improves the
handling qualities of the helicopter.
The SFT-100 will be upgradeable
to the new HFC-100 Autopilot/SAS,
since the HFC-100 utilizes the same
servo and actuator installation.
