Garmin announced expanded global aviation chart
coverage with the latest release of European terminal
charts, including instrument approach charts, SIDs,
STARs and airport diagrams. According to the company,
these charts are the most recent addition to the growing list of worldwide aviation charting products available
from Garmin, which are compatible with select Garmin
avionics and portables. Charts such as ground movement
charts and airport diagrams also are available as part of
the European FliteCharts database.
European FliteCharts provide enhanced situational
awareness when used with Garmin products because
they offer pilots geo-referencing capabilities for many
approaches. This feature overlays the aircraft position
onto the chart so pilots can identify their progress in-flight
as they fly an approach. Pilots may download European
FliteCharts from www.flyGarmin.com without the need for
additional software updates to their Garmin products.
