and Colpitts oscillators. From this
point, the book moves to basic radio
theory and radio receivers, including frequency synthesizers. The next
chapters deal with radio transmitters,
followed by chapters closely aligned
with the RCS, DNS and ANS. The following chapters deal with integration,
installation, and weight and balance.
These final chapters will help with any
installation-related endorsement.
Again, a smart way to start endorsement preparation is to purchase the
lower-priced Avionics: Beyond the
AET Student Workbook. The workbook will help a person decide whether or not they should purchase the
full text.
The AEA represents nearly 1,300
aviation businesses. If two people from
each business were to become certified, then there would be more than
2,600 technicians holding an AET certificate. Unfortunately, less than half
this number is certified at the present
time. Employees of these companies
have the knowledge and skills necessary to earn these certifications. The
study material is available. AEA member technicians have the knowledge
required to pass the exams; it merely
needs to be drawn out.
Once prepared, those wishing to take
the exam can sit for free at any of the
AEA Regional Meetings this year, courtesy of the AEA Educational Foundation.
Moreover, a technician can take the exam
at any laser grade or CATS testing center.
Prior to visiting one of these centers,
NCATT requires the candidate to complete a form on the NCATT website
located at www.ncatt.org.

locate and register to attend one of this
year's AEA Regional Meetings near you
at www.aea.net/regional. There is no better time than now to take the test. q
