The company's new ATG 8000 is designed
for large business aircraft in corporate shuttle
configurations and incorporates Gogo's ATG-4
technology, which adds a directional antenna, dual
modems and EV-DO Rev. B cellular technologies. The new
capability built into the ATG 8000 is expected to increase peak
throughput speeds to as much as 9.8 Mbit/second. Gogo also
announced the ATG 1000 system, which the company said is
particularly well-suited for light jets, turboprops and ownerflown aircraft. Gogo's ATG 1000 enables high-performance
email with attachments plus calling and texting with passengers' own smartphones and mobile numbers. The ATG 1000
is software-upgradable, providing customers the ability to add
features like Web browsing at any time simply by purchasing a
software key, and also is expected to support select cockpit and
operational applications.
Gogo also announced three new service plans. Its MultiNetwork Data Bundle allows customers using its Gogo Biz and
obtaining SwiftBroadband data from Gogo to obtain a 20-percent
discount on both services every month. Additionally, customers can choose from any available data plan for each network
service. The Gogo Biz Unlimited Data Plan offers a "predictable
and worry-free connectivity experience," according to the company. Priced at $3,995 per month, it includes unlimited data, as
the name implies. For lighter users, Gogo is offering the Gogo
Biz 1000 Data Plan, which includes 1 gigabyte of data each
month, with additional usage priced at $3.95 per megabyte. The
Gogo Biz 1000 Data Plan is priced at $1,895 per month.

Heads Up Technologies
Heads Up Technologies got its start by developing digital
audio checklist systems for pilots, allowing them to fly "heads
up." Since that first product, the company has expanded
into warning and cabin management systems. At the AEA
Convention, Heads Up introduced its new DMS257 wireless
digital media server, which joins the company's Lumin cabin
management systems product line.
The DMS257 allows as many as passengers to access
high-definition moving maps and flight data, stream
onboard digital audio and video libraries, access
cockpit audio and more on their favorite personal
electronic device, according to the company. An
optional video streaming service also is available on
a monthly subscription through Red Touch Media;
its content must be downloaded to the DMS257's
internal solid-state hard drive. The system supports

both iOS and Android devices via
Wi-Fi, and features an easy-to-use interface
supporting both landscape and portrait orientations. Connecting
to SiriusXM Radio via the company's XMR581 receiver is an
available option and can handle up to eight simultaneous stations.
Heads Up's DMS257 connects to cockpit avionics via an
ARINC 429 data bus for its air-data input, which can be displayed on client devices, and to the aircraft's Wi-Fi system
via an Ethernet RJ45 jack. In addition to cockpit audio or
SiriusXM, portable devices can be used as media sources via
line level inputs. A USB connection also is provided, which
can be used to add digital media to the internal 256 GB internal
solid-state hard drive. The DMS257 complies with DO-160G
environmental standards, and is suitable for installation aboard
most Part 25 transport aircraft.

Innovative Advantage
Innovative Advantage manufactures a high-bandwidth, fiberoptic network system capable of carrying high-definition audiovisual content along with gigabit Ethernet throughout an aircraft
cabin. The system, which the company has dubbed AVDS,
is built around a redundant distributed network of fiber-optic
cabling, allowing signals to move at their full uncompressed
bandwidth for the highest video quality and no latencies, EMI
noise induction or ground loops. More than 420 aircraft flying
today have an Innovative Advantage's network system installed;
it's standard on Gulfstream G650 and G280 aircraft, and optional
for the G550 and G450 and the G150, according to the company.
New at the AEA Convention is 4K ultra high-definition
support, which allows the latest consumer-grade video technology to be displayed aboard an equipped aircraft. Innovative
Advantage also offers significant upgrades to existing or newly
installed cabin management and in-flight entertainment systems
through its Channel Tracker add-on circuit
card, bringing signal quality at each
installed monitor from standard definition to highresolution 4K capability.
