nips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails"
was the theme for the Bismarck Doll
Friends' library display. Club members
contributed a variety of boy and men
dolls along with toys and illustrations
from Edelen Wille's Vintage Poster Book:
Favorite Nursery Rhymes. The "Snips
& Snails" theme was also a part of their
annual luncheon. Every table featured a
centerpiece using an Ideal vintage "Be
Mine" boy doll that was dressed by Kathie
Welsh. All the dolls were seated on small
quilts designed by Nancy Oss and Kathy
Stahl. Six lucky attendees won dolls and six
others won quilts. Table favors included a
felt beanie and miniature Fisher-Price toy.
Also included was a trunk show of scalesized fabrics and trims by "Eva's Etcetera
Etc" that was an added attraction. Next
year, the Bismarck Doll Friends will be
celebrating its tenth anniversary as a UFDC
club. Members want everyone to reserve
the sixth and seventh of June, 2015 for a
weekend of fun with a birthday party and
doll show.
