Portrait of a Professional Anthony J. Ellenikiotis, DDS, MS r. Tony Ellenikiotis has been my colleague at UCSF for almost 15 years. He is one of our strongest faculty members, always giving extra time to the residents and collaborating with Orthodontic Division leaders to improve the quality of the program. Tony agreed to this interview after some encouragement, as he prefers his activities to be behind the scenes. Nevertheless, it was important to me that readers have the opportunity to meet this dedicated orthodontist. ―Gerald Nelson, DDS D BY GERALD NELSON, DDS Tony and his daughter Soula GERALD NELSON: Tony, tell me about your childhood, where you were born and grew up. TONY ELLENIKIOTIS: I was born and raised right here in San Francisco. I have many relatives in Greece, so every summer of my childhood was spent on the third-largest Greek Island—Evia—where my family raised grapes and olives, sheep, goats, horses, ducks, and chickens.
