AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF ORTHODONTISTS FOUNDATION REPORT THE 2013 AWARDS PROGRAM T he deadline for proposals for the next round of funding was Friday, December 14th, 2012. The total number of 52 proposals ties the record high. Proposals were submitted by a record-high 34 graduate orthodontic residency programs. Proposals came from several PCSO schools and programs, including Roseman University, University of British Columbia, University of California at Los Angeles, University of California at San Francisco, University of Nevada at Las Vegas, University of the Pacific, and University of Washington. The process calls for these proposals to be reviewed by the Planning and Awards Review Committee, with recommendations to be given to the AAO Foundation Board of Directors. A decision is due to be delivered in early March. Responses will be provided shortly thereafter, and this information will be posted on the Foundation’s website. Videos T he Foundation website (www.aaofoundation.net) currently features four videos. The first of these is on the Overall Awards Program; it features a number of AAOF volunteer leaders and current department chairs and program directors who were supported by the Foundation early in their academic careers. The second is on the Collections Project; it includes some of the people involved in this unprecedented collaborative undertaking to not only preserve legacy orthodontic records, but to make them accessible for educa- 8 tion and research purposes to one and all, without charge.
