LICENSING A RAFT OF NEW ELVIS LICENSES HAVE RECENTLY BEEN GRANTED A raft
of new licenses have recently been granted by Elvis Presley Enterprises
Inc. These include B&K Enterprises for replica’s of Elvis’ original
jumpsuits, enamel bathroom and kitchen items from Lee’s Homewares Inc,
ipod and mp3 accessories from Excitement LLC and beach towels from Franco
manufacturing. More deals have been made including GNJ Manufacturing Inc
for ipod and mobile phone accessories including charms, cases, pouches,
holders and stickers, John Sands Ltd for 2008 calendars in Australia, NTD
Apparel Inc for juniors and ladies apparel, Pex Candy Inc for Elvis Pez
dispensers and mini mints and, finally, Smiffy’s for costumes. A NEW
YEAR AND A NEW SEASON AND SCHEDULE FOR PEPPA PIG IN NORTH AMERICA Rubber
Duck Entertainment has announced that Cartoon Network has acquired the
second season of Peppa Pig and extended its programming schedule,
cementing its continued presence on the North American platform through
2007 & 2008. The brand new season featuring new friends and storylines is
currently in production. An air date has yet to be announced but, in the
meantime, Peppa Pig will continue to air on Cartoon Network with an
extended weekday slot from 10 minutes to 30 minutes beginning in January
and continuing throughout Spring 2007. “Peppa is fun, funny and
fantastic; a welcome part of our daytime schedule,” said Alice Chan,
vice president of programming and development for Cartoon Network.
“Season two continues the tradition of great situation comedy about a
loving family for our younger viewers.” Peppa Pig debuted on Cartoon
Network in the USA in August 2005 and has steadily grown in popularity.
Joan Lofts, Director of Rubber Duck Entertainment commented: “We are
thrilled that Peppa Pig has grown from strength to strength with Cartoon
Network and delighted that she will be a big part of their daytime
schedule going forwards.” PENTHOUSE INKS EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH NOMAD
NETWORX General Media Communications, Inc., a whollyowned subsidiary of
Penthouse Media Group Inc. PMGI has signed a multi-year, exclusive
agreement with Nomad NetworX, a leading Asia Pacific mobile adult content
aggregator, to distribute Penthouse branded mobile content throughout
Australia and New Zealand. Branded offerings will include photos, images,
wallpaper, videos and MMS assets from the Penthouse library, including
Penthouse Variations and Penthouse Letters, along with the recently
acquired Jill Kelly Productions library; as well as new programming
designed specifically and exclusively for mobile distribution. HIT
APPOINTS VICE PRESIDENT FOR ASIA PACIFIC HIT Entertainment has announced
the appointment of Antonio Huab to the position of Vice President, Asia.
Huab, a seasoned licensing and marketing executive with over 15 years
experience in the entertainment industry, will be responsible for driving
the Asia Pacific consumer products and TV distribution business out of
HIT’s recently opened office in Hong Kong. Huab joins HIT from Hutchison
Harbour Ring, the licensing agent for Warner Bros and Cartoon Network’s
Consumer Products business where he held the role of Deputy General
Manager for Hong Kong, Macau and Greater China. Prior to this, Huab was
the Regional Marketing Director Asia Pacific with FELD Entertainment; a
Hong Kong based live events company, where he promoted Disney on Ice
Touring Shows across Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Australia. Huab
previously spent 10 years working on Disney Brands with his stints at The
Walt Disney Company and Fun Characters, Inc, Disney Consumer Products’
Licensing Agent., in Manila, Jakarta and Singapore, holding licensing and
marketing roles for the region. Huab joins HIT Entertainment this month
and will report to Peter Byrne EVP International and Alison Homewood EVP
