The real deal
Canadians educated about differences between ice cream and frozen dessert during summer promotion
T
his summer, DFC is encouraging Canadians to choose real ice cream, made from 100% Canadian milk or 100% Canadian milk ingredients. From mid-May to the end of August, DFC will publicize its “choose real ice cream” message in transit shelters, instore and online. It will educate consumers about ice cream and frozen dessert differences through unique television ads, and aim to increase sales of Canadian ice cream brands that use the 100% Canadian Milk symbol. The national campaign will include an Ipsos-Reid survey to learn about Canadians’ favourite treat and their knowledge on the difference between ice cream and frozen desserts. The campaign kicked off late April with a two-page ad in Canadian Grocer. It highlighted the difference between real ice cream and frozen desserts.
