NEW’N’NOTED Test tells you if she’s in calf Module monitors herd heats DG29 pregnancy test kit The DG29 bovine pregnancy test, available in Ontario, Western Canada and the Maritimes, is an easy-touse blood pregnancy test. It lets you draw blood samples from your cattle, forward samples to a certified laboratory and receive pregnancy diagnosis results quickly and accurately via fax or e-mail. The test uses ELISA technology to detect a specific pregnancy-related protein within the sample. Based on the presence of a pregnancy-related protein, or lack of it, pregnant or open results are reported. DG29, developed by Conception Animal Reproduction Technologies, has been shown to be more than 98.7 per cent accurate according to research published in the Canadian Veterinary Journal.
