Just under half, 46.4% said that they had some decision-making authority. Engineers were not content with this state of affairs. In a follow-up question, just over half (51.2%) indicated that they would like to have more input into decisions in the workplace. wOrkPlaCe ChanGe The survey asked engineers about workplace change. Several findings are notable. First, as Table 4 shows, 61% of engineers say that their workloads increased over the last 5 years. In a similar vein, 58.5% of engineers say that the skill required to do their jobs has become greater (Table 5). Table 4. has your workload changed over the past 5 years?
