PeRfORmING aND hOw yOu CaN PaRTICIPaTe
OSPE is proud of the work that Ontario's engineers do every day, and as the advocacy
body for the engineering community, it is our role to ensure that these world-changing
efforts do not go unnoticed.
On September 8, 2017, OSPE launched its Change the World campaign to excite
the province and the world about the engineering profession - one story at a time.
We all know the power of storytelling. It's how we share knowledge, pass on
traditions, express our opinions and most importantly, inspire others.
The first phase of OSPE's Change the World campaign featured the stories of
four professional engineers and OSPE members from across the province who
are making a real difference in society. Wesley Bova, P.Eng., Mandy Chan, P.Eng.,
Andrea Bradford, P.Eng., John Bianchini, P.Eng., are each doing work that will impact
generations to come.
Collectively, these members are conducting land use compatibility studies for
large scale developments, building and maintaining reliable infrastructure in remote
First Nations communities, championing technology and processes that promote
sustainable developments globally, and protecting the clean water supplies through
careful water management of wetlands and rivers. And these examples only scratch
the surface!
We know that every day our members are working on interesting projects - large
and small - that impact us to improve our quality of life. To highlight the impressive
work of Ontario's engineers, we turned our Change the World microsite into a hub for
collecting and sharing inspirational stories.
At www.ospestories.ca, all members of the engineering community are invited to
share how they hope to change the world through engineering.
We've been collecting your story submissions since September and cannot wait to
showcase your contributions. Your stories will help to raise a greater awareness and
understanding about the engineering profession come 2018.

how is the Change the world
campaign performing?
Our metrics show many Ontarians seem
to be as excited about the Change the
World campaign as we are. Within the
first two months of the campaign, OSPE's
Change the World microsite was viewed
over 5,000 times by 4,000+ unique users.
Change the World has also allowed
OSPE to connect with a growing global
online audience. People from countries
as far as Hong Kong, France, the
United Kingdom and the Philippines
have visited OSPE's Change the World
microsite to enjoy a glimpse of the
engineering innovation taking place
