Fluorescents ended up winning the Grand Jury Prize at the Park City Utah film festival. The film follows two best friends, one a struggling actress, the other an aspiring playwright, who are biding their time working at corporate training seminars; the most important gig of their careers becomes their biggest production yet.

Claire Dion-Fletcher

Midwifery ’13 Claire received an Iewirokwas Cape Award for Midwifery Heroes at a Toronto Birth Centre awards ceremony in February. Presented for the first time, the awards recognize midwives who have made tremendous contributions to their communities and the profession. Honorees receive a handmade cape and next year they will be responsible to select the two midwifery heroes to whom they will pass on their capes.

Caitie Graham

Theatre Performance Acting ’14 As a student Caitie wrote a play titled Paradise Comics that was produced at 56K Kensington Hall by the independent theatre company Filament Incubator. Her play was the last of a season of new theatre pieces by emerging artists. Many of the plays throughout the season featured Ryerson alumni. filamentincubator.wixsite.com/home/paradise-comics

Bailey Parnell

RTA ’15 Bailey was named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women, according to a new ranking by Women’s Executive Network (WXN). Last year, she received a bronze award for Young Female Entrepreneur of the Year at the Stevie Awards for International Women in Business (based in NYC). Bailey is currently a digital marketing specialist with Ryerson’s Student Affairs department.

Business Management ’13 Maisha has launched Nokshi Crafts, offering ethically
Priya Persaud, Chemical Engineering ’14, received the Outstanding Young Professional of the Year award from the Water Environment Association of Ontario in March. Priya is a project designer with GM BluePlan Engineering’s water/wastewater group based in Guelph.
