Toronto Tourism Magazine 2009 - (Page 33) Queen St. West Shop and then drop on the Red Rocket as it passes through shopping heaven. 1:30 p.m. Queen St. West The lunch crowd hurries to catch a ride, weighted down with bags acquired at the artsy and eclectic boutiques along this venerated shopping strip. Throughout the day and into the night, riders will rely on the streetcar to get them to Nathan Phillips Square, where they’ll enjoy bands and a host of other entertainment, including free skating during the wintertime. Fact: The 501 Queen streetcar operates seven days a week and is one of few that runs 24 hours, for late-night revellers who affectionately refer to the car as the Red Rocket. TORONTO 2009 | 33
