As a joint venture between the Osoyoos Indian Band and Vincor Canada, Nk’Mip is proud of its native roots and culture. Excellent grapes and facilities and a cooperative climate are paramount to Inniskillin Okanagan’s success. The unique site climate at Dark Horse is one of the warmest in Canada and boasts the country’s lowest recorded rainfall (250mm). Intense sunlight ripens the grapes to full maturity while cool nights help to retain acidity. Notable wines from Sumac Ridge Estate Winery’s vineyards, a leader in the BC wine industry, consist of Gewürztraminer, Meritage, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, “Méthode Classique” sparkling wines, and Icewine. Summerhill Pyramid Winery was named ‘Canadian Wine Producer of the Year’ in 2009 by the International Wine & Spirits Competition in London, England, which is like the Oscars of the wine world. The Huber family is North America’s first “Ice Wine” producer and Canada’s first “Certified Organic” winery. Every wine the Huber family produced and released since 2002 under the Deep Creek Wine Estate and Hainly Vinyards Estate Winery labels, has won medals at international competitions. Quails’ Gate is respected as one of the top producers of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Okanagan Valley. The Okanagan Estate Wine Shoppe is situated in the departure lounge and is open daily from 6 am – 8 pm.
