The estate is more than a National Historic Landmark to me—it is a home. My great-grandfather built it and brought his bride here; my grandmother and my father were born in Biltmore House. In 1895, when George Vanderbilt opened his 250-room house in Asheville, North Carolina, he envisioned welcoming family and friends to escape from the routines and busyness of everyday life. His legacy of unrivaled hospitality continues here today. I invite you to experience everything the estate offers, from original furnishings and masterpieces of art to breathtaking gardens and fun in 8,000 acres of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We are also proud to share the future of Biltmore with you: how we are preserving this great estate for generations to come. Our four-star inn, award-winning Winery, sustainable agriculture program, and unique products are efforts to maintain my great-grandfather’s vision of a selfsupporting estate. Today, Biltmore remains an inspiring getaway and an escape for all who visit—any time, in every season. We look forward to seeing you this year! T ©2008 The Biltmore Company. All rights reserved.
