Kosciusko County 2008 Visitor Guide - (Page 24) RECREATION/GREAT OUTDOORS Be sure to ride your bike along the three completed phases of the Lake City Greenway. The Greenway currently has three paths completed: Beyer Farm Trail – a 3/4 mile asphalt and boardwalk trail through the wetlands connecting Pike Lake and the Kosciusko Community Hospital Campus; Chinworth Bridge Trail – a 1.8 mile asphalt trail connecting the City-County Athletic Complex (CCAC) to the City of Warsaw on the west side; and the Heritage Trail – a 1.9 mile asphalt trail beginning at the entrance to Winona Lake and the Village at Winona and continuing through the old Chicago Boys Club wooded area. The Heritage Trail will feature artwork that interprets attributes of the heritage of Winona Lake. These attributes include: kindness, virtue, generosity, community, gathering, beauty, respect, legacy, peace, and love. Don’t miss this fun outdoor activity for the whole family. Geo Caching is a treasure hunt…..use a hand held GPS (Global Positioning System) and you can find caches containing unique items. Check out the website www.geocaching.com to learn about this great entertainment option and about the many geo caches located in Kosciusko County just waiting to be discovered. Interested but don’t want to invest in a GPS until you have tried it out? No problem! The Visitor Center has two GPS units which we loan to visitors for the day! Indiana’s Premier Sports Complex The City-County Athletic Complex (CCAC) is the premier sport, recreation and athletic facilities complex in Indiana. The 65+ acre facility offers the very best sporting, recreation and athletic activities. The complex includes 8 lighted softball fields, 1 lighted soccer field, 13 match soccer fields, 2 sand volleyball courts, flag football, 7 station batting cages, a playground area, picnic shelters, clean restrooms, two concession stands and a paved parking lot with over 800 parking places.
