Kosciusko County 2008 Visitor Guide - (Page 37) PIERCETON P ierceton, “The Antique Town,” is the best kept secret in Kosciusko County. This quaint town has been a haven for antique enthusiasts for over 65 years, attracting visitors from all over the country. Located just eight miles east of Warsaw, at the intersection of US 30 and SR 13, Pierceton is an emerging community with many charming shops and a growing industry. Pierceton is home to 10 different antique shops, where visitors can find a broad array of wonderful antiques and collectibles. Several other specialty shops are located in town, including a gourmet chocolate shop, an art gallery, a coffee house, a creator of 18th and 19th century history reproduction pieces and a NASCAR collectibles shop. Pierceton also has a couple of public parks at which to enjoy a leisurely walk or catch a ball game in the summer. Join the fun at one of the annual festivals: The “Living History Fair” will take place on February 10th and 11th at the old Train Depot. Visitors can enjoy an antique arms show and primitive camps. Vendors and suppliers will be on hand to display their goods. On July 21st, the Third Annual Fine Art and Writing Fair will take place at Brower Park. On display will be works of art from artists around Northern Indiana. The Pierceton Days town festival will be held on the first weekend in August. Come enjoy a car show, parade, carnival and live entertainment. In December the shops of Pierceton host a holiday open house to welcome visitors far and wide.
