North Carolina Maritime Museum, Manteo. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Build an 8 foot plywood boat. Teams will build a boat using the stitch and glue method. A three day individual surf fishing tournament with 300 paid anglers competing to catch and release the largest and most red drum. Prizes total over $12,000 to multiple winners. North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island. 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Spooks, ghosts and strange aquatic creatures will greet children as they enjoy this popular event. Aquarium staff will make preparations to ensure a "spooktacular" time for all. This event will feature an underwater dive show, Count Sharkula, creepy crafts, activities, spine-tingling scream contests, costume contests, and lots of yummy munchies to be given to each child during the event. Ticket sales will begin on October 1st with admission fee for ages 3 and above; those age two and under will be admitted free. Tickets are limited and will be sold in advance at the Aquarium.
