The Frick Art & Historical Center (once the residence of Pittsburgh industrialist Henry Clay Frick) is home to a collection of Italian Renaissance and Flemish masterpieces, as well as traveling and locally curated exhibitions. Just outside the city, the Maridon Museum focuses on works from China and Japan, with over 800 pieces of art. And, the Westmoreland Museum of American Art features a national and regional collection of 18th to 20th Century American art. GO! Galleries Galore Stroll along Liberty and Penn Avenues in the downtown Cultural District to check out Wood Street Galleries, SPACE and other cutting-edge galleries. On the North Shore, you’ll find the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild featuring year-round art exhibitions. In the 16:62 Design Zone – which includes the Strip District and Lawrenceville – be sure to check out the Society for Contemporary Craft and plenty more galleries along Butler Street. In the East End neighborhoods, there’s the Pittsburgh Glass Center. You won’t want to miss the Silver Eye Center for Photography on the South Side or Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in Shadyside.
