AREA OVERVIEW Incorporated in 1815, the town of Stroudsburg has been entertaining visitors for nearly two centuries. Today, Main Street is a bustling cultural center filled with live entertainment in a historic theater, art galleries and cafés. Other key towns include East Stroudsburg, Marshalls Creek, Mount Pocono and Tannersville. HISTORY AND HERITAGE The rightfully named Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm just outside of Stroudsburg educates and protects Pennsylvania’s agricultural heritage. Pocono Raceway upholds its own traditions – since its first NASCAR race in 1974, the course has been a staple on the NASCAR circuit with two races a year. CULTURAL ASSETS The town of Delaware Water Gap, the “Gateway to the Pocono Mountains,” is a mecca for the artistic and musical community; it will host its annual Celebration of the Arts (COTA) festival in September. Also in town, and viewable year ‘round, is the priceless collection of art on display at the Antoine Dutot Museum & Gallery. SEASONAL NOTES Haven’t seen much white stuff yet this season?
