Wet and wild From north to south, the eastern part of Downtown Racine is saturated with special activities. The Great Midwest Dragon Boat Festival paddles around the shoreline on July 11 and 12. With shovels, buckets and tools in hand, groups build sandy masterpieces at Samuel Myers Park on the second Sunday in August. Extreme athletes can ride, skate and grind at the lakefront skating park, while extreme animal lovers can visit the wild beasts at the Racine Zoo every day of the year, except Christmas.
