Point Blue development rendering by KeyBridge. Waterford is a well-kept secret with a touch of home just 20 minutes west of I-94. Filled with quaint shops and mouth-watering eateries, Waterford residents and guests enjoy family-friendly events throughout the year. Fox River winds its way through the relaxing community, and there are numerous public access points for fishing and boating. The thriving economic environment allows for new and existing business to grow. Space remains in the WesTerra Business Park, and commercial land is offered at the Trail View Planned Community Development District. Great housing diversity exists throughout the west end of the county. Enchanting home sites are open in the Fox Glen subdivision, and the Waterford Landing on the Fox is a conservation community on the banks of the river. The city of Racine hugs the shoreline of Lake Michigan and is just a short jaunt from the interstate. Its burgeoning Downtown is filled with art galleries, museums, specialty shops and ethnic restaurants. Housing and mixed-used developments are popping up across this urban, waterfront neighborhood. In 2008, the $200-million Pointe Blue development will join Riverbend Lofts, The Atwater and State & Main mixed-use projects as new, ideal places to live and work. The city’s Artist Relocation Program initially focuses on the Uptown commercial area just west of Downtown. The program matches people in the creative arts with properties in which they can live and house their business, studio or gallery. Racine’s newest industrial park, Southside Industrial Park, is open at Memorial Drive and DeKoven Avenue. The redeveloped 14-acre facility offers clean, green sites for industry. Symbolic of the larger transformation is the new bio-remediation pond, which uses natural processes to filter contamination from storm water before it flows into the river and the lake. This innovative way of thinking is just a sample of the many ways our officials are preparing for your future. Your treasure and imminent successes are waiting.
