Between the mountains and the coast
Centrally located, Raleigh is located just two
hours from the beach and three hours from the
mountains of North Carolina.
Raleigh, N.C., is easy to get to by way of the
interstate and state highway systems
I-440 circles the center of Wake County.
I-540 loops around the outer perimeter.
I-40 is the main interstate going east/west.
I-85 and I-95 pass within about 40 miles.

New for 2018, Frontier Airlines has added six
new routes to its service to RDU International
Airport: Buffalo, N.Y., Harrisburg, Pa., Houston,
Texas, Milwaukee, Wis., New Orleans, La.,
Portland, Maine, San Antonio, Texas, San Juan,
P.R., and Syracuse, N.Y. Frontier now serves 18
cities paired with RDU.

Raleigh's four-season weather
The weather here stays fine-moderate
temperatures in the spring, with highs in
the mid 80s. It's warm and humid in the
summertime, with highs in the upper 80s to
low 90s. Fall feels a bit chilly in the morning
with highs in the 70s, and winter can be
surprising; it might bring a dusting of snow or
an unseasonably warm day in the 60s °F.
Take the train
Newly-constructed Union Station is about to
provide service in downtown Raleigh in 2018.
Amtrak trains run through downtown Raleigh
and downtown Cary. Routes with local stops
include The Carolinian (Charlotte to Cary to
Raleigh to New York), The Piedmont (Charlotte
to Cary to Raleigh) and The Silver Star (Florida
to Raleigh to New York).
Catch a free ride around downtown Raleigh
The R-LINE is a free eco-friendly hybrid electric
bus service that runs approximately every 15
minutes. It will connect you to restaurants,
retail, entertainment venues, museums, hotels
and parking facilities in downtown Raleigh.

Other ways to get from Point A to B
You can always request an Uber or a Lyft or
call a taxi or consider renting a motorcycle
from Tobacco Road Harley-Davidson during
your stay. For those staying and meeting
or playing in downtown Raleigh, flag down
one of the local rickshaws for a convenient,
environmentally-green ride. Have some time to
spare and want to explore downtown Raleigh
at your leisure? Jump on the Trolley Pub for a
party on wheels (must be 21 or older), or glide
around on a Triangle Glides Trikke tour.
