BIRDING Bring a camera and binoculars and get close to our feathered friends. Over 220 bird species! A bike, kayak, or boat tour are great ways to get within range. SAND, MUD, MARSH & SHELLS We can plan a nature-based excursion for your family to learn about “pluff mud,” exoskeletons/shells, detritus, the salt marsh and its role as a pollutant filter. SHARKS & OTHER CRITTERS Let us plan a customized excursion to get you on the water, separating fact from fiction, while learning about the critters encountered frequently in local waters. TURTLE TALK & NATURE ROOM Discover the Loggerhead sea turtle’s history, survival struggles and nesting patterns. Visit the Nature Room in Heron Park Center to check out the local reptiles. KAMP KIAWAH Kiawah Island Resort offers youth programs for vacationing families. This fully-supervised program is offered to children ages 3 to 11. Toddlers must be toilettrained. Full and half day programs are offered. Kids over 11 can join a separate Youth or Teen Program. ADVANCE RESERVATIONS REQUIRED: Kamp Kiawah space is limited, so same day walk-up registration is not available. Kamp Kiawah offers AM and PM sessions for Easter and Summer. Lunch is provided for full-day Kampers. AM Sessions only for Spring, Fall and Holiday seasons.
