BEACH SERVICES & RENTALS Beach umbrellas, chairs, rafts and boogie boards are available for seasonal rentals. Guest Services can arrange kayak and equipment rentals in advance. POOL INFORMATION If pool access is important to you, several neighborhoods, including Sparrow Pond, Greenslake, Duneside, Inlet Cove Club, Turtle Beach and Ocean Green have their own pools, as do some private homes. Pool season typically runs from March to November. Or, for a fun day, take the family to the water slides, pools and water-play structures at Splash Zone at James Island County Park, conveniently located on the way to Charleston. The water park offers lounge chairs, showers, lockers and changing areas for your convenience. The park also boasts a 50-foot climbing wall, miles of nature trails, playing fields, picnic areas and a playground. Call Guest Services for the latest details. TENNIS Kiawah has two highly rated tennis centers. Check our website or call Guest Services regarding current fees, special programs, events and clinics. HORSEBACK RIDING Neighboring Seabrook Island has a fully equipped equestrian center offering boarding stables, trail and beach rides, pony rides and instruction for all levels. The center suggests making advance reservations, so check our website or call Guest Services prior to arrival. BIKE RIDING Bike riding is the preferred mode of travel on the island. Kiawah’s 30 miles of paved bike trails and 10 miles of hard-packed beach make exploration by bicycle both healthy and fun. You can avoid salt corrosion to your own equipment by renting bikes in advance, when you book your lodging. Bikes can be delivered to your villa or home. Be sure to ask for complimentary helmets. You may also rent a buggy to pull children behind your bike. Advance reservations are recommended. Call the Guest Services desk toll-free at (866) 249-9934. Be sure to pick up your free bike trail map at check-in. Programs may change. KIAWAH MARATHON Runners train for the Annual Kiawah Marathon and half marathon held in December each year. This USATF sanctioned event is capped at the first 3000 entrants, so call months in advance for details on race registration and lodging.
