You got the buzz going on. Music is a universal language. Yeah we have a way in. Into people’s hearts and soul, and their minds that other people probably wouldn’t have. When people come here, they don’t want to leave. I tell them when you go back tell your congressman what you saw. We have more congressmen visiting Iraq than Louisiana. We’ve had the biggest disaster, not a natural disaster, a man-made disaster caused by a natural occurrence. It is a breakdown of our democracy. Somebody needs to be a motivator and get people to step up. Honestly it should be the president. He’s our representative. People forget the president’s job doesn’t dictate what this country is going to do. That’s a dictator. The president of the United States of America is the people’s voice in Congress. He was appointed to be our voice. He’s supposed to be our “go to” guy. But he’s not there? AWARDS AND THE VOW FESTIVAL Tab Benoit was nominated for a Grammy for his “Brother to the Blues” album and won the Blues Music Association Contemporary Blues Album of the Year for “Fever for the Bayou” and the Best Blues Performer award. This past summer “Power of the Pontchartrain” was released with an exciting blend of R&B-driven roots music that many critics feel just may be Tab’s best record yet. The non-profit Voice of the Wetlands Festival will be held at Southdown Museum Grounds in Houma, Louisiana on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday October 12, 13, and 14, 2007. How quickly did Iraq come up after Hurricane Katrina and Rita? About a week? He came down here a week later to take some pictures and step his foot on the ground.
