Sirona Expands Orthodontic Product Line
CEREC Omnicam and its new CEREC Ortho Software can now be used to
submit digital impressions for Invisalign clear-aligner therapy. The new CEREC
Ortho SW 1.1 features a patent-pending, guided scanning process and connects
CEREC with Invisalign treatment. Digital models created from CEREC Omnicam
intraoral data are transferred to Align Technology and used as part of the record
submission for an Invisalign treatment.
This eliminates the process of creating and sending physical impressions, which
results in faster processing of the case. The new software, exclusive for CEREC
Omnicam systems, will be available in selected markets by the summer of 2015.
Biolux Research Announces Product Approval
in Australia and New Zealand
Biolux Research has announced that its product, OrthoPulse, has
received two new regulatory approvals. These recent approvals, in Australia
and New Zealand, will enable doctors in those countries to offer this technology to their orthodontic patients.
OrthoPulse utilizes low-level light therapy, or photobiomodulation, to
stimulate the periodontium and alveolar bone surrounding the roots of the
teeth to significantly increase tooth movement and reduce treatment time
for braces or clear aligners. Biolux CEO Kevin Strange said the product
has already received regulatory approval in Europe and Canada and may
receive more approvals in the near future.

SmartClip System was introduced 10 years
ago and evolves based on user input to offer
greater efficiency. The latest advancement
is its availability with the APC Flash-Free
Adhesive Coated Appliance System. APC
Flash-Free Adhesive does away with the
flash removal step during bracket placement, saving bonding time and lowering
the bond failure rate.
