The honorees were chosen for their achievements in the education field and significant contributions to their communities. alex adams ’62, ’70 is a retired UA emeritus faculty member. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from UA. dr. david axner ’78, ’84, ’97 is the superintendent of Dublin Schools. Axner received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UA. nicholi Cannon ’68, ’71 is a retired teacher with the Akron Public Schools. Currently, she is serving her second term on the Fine and Applied Arts Council for UA. megan mannion ’91, ’93 is the principal of Rankin Elementary School. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UA. Ken alber ’82 is the senior vice president of the PENTA Building Group in Las Vegas. Alber earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from UA. michael arnold ’79, ’88 is an executive vice president of The Timken Company. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from UA. Steven arnold ’82, ’84, ’87 earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in civil engineering, a master’s degree and a doctorate in engineering, all from UA. He is the chief of the Mechanics and Life Prediction Branch within the Structures and Materials Division at the NASA Glenn Research Center. James Parish ’80 is chief president and chief engineer of J.M. Parish Enterprises LLC. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from UA. randall Theken ’90, ’92 is the founder of the Theken Family of Companies.
