Designed with the environment in mind, the printer features HP Latex Inks and HP Wide Scan Printing Technology. Print service providers can produce a wide range of applications— from point of purchase displays, wall murals and exhibition graphics to vehicle graphics and fleet marking, and a variety of exterior and interior event signage with the printer. Water-based HP Latex Inks create odorless prints with extremely low levels of volatile organic compounds. Sign shops avoid ozone emissions and hazardous air pollutants when utilizing HP Latex Inks. At 104 inches wide, the HP Designjet L6550 prints outdoor quality prints at 800 sf/h and indoor quality prints at 400 sf/h at a high resolution of 1,200 dpi. Output resembles media printed with solvent ink. Unlaminated prints have a three year life cycle, laminated prints last up to five years. In both cases, prints are scratch, smudge, and water-resistant. Optimal results occur when using any of the new, 14 large format media options designed by HP. The HP Designjet L6550 will be available in early 2009. Circle 160 G CC introduces an innovative heavy-duty roll-fed system for its large format UV-curable inkjet printer—StellarJET 183UVK.
