Choose from The Carriage House or Manor House Auditoriums; both are wonderful venues for receptions and parties and they hold 100 and 200 people, respectively. The North Meadow or Bowling Lawn are great locations for outdoor receptions, which can be held under tents and can accommodate larger groups. Once the location has been selected, menu planning begins with the rental staff. Stan Hywet has four preferred caterers along with a separate menu with bar prices. The rentals department is fully staffed to accommodate your every need. They are hands-on from beginning to end and offer a meticulous eye for detail. Special attention and creativity set the rental department apart from other venues. “We’ve been incredibly busy accommodating bridal couples who are getting married here this season, as well as working with clients to plan weddings, parties and corporate events this fall and in 2009,” says Laura Thacker, Rentals Specialist at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Gardens, Gate Lodge and Greenhouse time: 11 am-4:30 pm price: $8 non-members/free for members children 6-17: $4 non-members/free for members A Period of Perspective: The Art of Gertrude Penfield Seiberling Through October 31 Gertrude Seiberling, the wife of F.A. Seiberling, was a painter of portraits, landscapes and other subjects. This exhibit features a comprehensive look at her creative and abundant portfolio set up in the Music Room of the Manor House. Inspired by her travels, Gertrude painted and sketched many scenes from places at her family’s summer home as well as places she had been abroad. Twenty-five paintings are on display from the 1930s to the 1940s.
