Closed to the public on Mondays. Native American through the Prism of Culture: Edward S. Curtis & the Legacy of Collectors The exhibit is a collaboration of efforts between Kent State University Museum and Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. The exhibition features photographs of Native Americans as well as artifacts from different tribal groups. Through June 15, 2008, Stan Hywet will be hosting events in conjunction with the Native American through the Prism of Culture exhibition. Seiberling, was a painter of portraits, landscapes and other subjects. This exhibit features a comprehensive look at her creative and abundant portfolio set up in the music room or the manor house. Inspired by her travels, Gertrude painted and sketched many scenes from places at her family’s summer home as well as places she had been abroad. Twenty-five paintings will be on display from the 1930s to the 1940s. Seiberling Secrets April 1-October 31 Back by popular demand, the Seiberling Secrets experience includes a viewing of special collections that change throughout the year. Walk among more than 400 free-flying exotic butterflies at one of Northeast Ohio’s largest butterfly exhibits in the Corbin Conservatory. A butterfly guide is available to visitors.
