Filmmaker Josh Gippin depicts how a belief in God, no matter what faith or creed, plays a significant role in A.A.’s recovery process. The film also takes a look at those who question the 12 Steps program. God as we understand Him will premier at Stan Hywet on June 7 at 11 am, 2 pm and 4 pm, during Founders Day weekend and will be available on DVD at the Museum Store. In 2007, a forum was initiated as a collaborative effort between Kent State University, The University of Akron and Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens to study and discuss historical, architectural and preservation issues. On Oct. 17 & 18, the first annual Stan Hywet Symposium, entitled On Display: Historic Homes and Great Estates, is exploring The Industrial Revolution and The Gilded Age, a time when homes reflected the wealth of self-made men. stan hywet hall gardens magazine http://www.stanhywet.org
