Avail Jackson county Leaders PLan trent Lott aPPreciation day Jackson Countians will salute a native son, recently retired United States Senator Trent Lott, during a gala celebration of his public career. “Jackson County’s ‘Trent Lott Appreciation Day’ will offer residents and well-wishers the opportunity to greet and thank Trent for his many years of Congressional service representing the great state of Mississippi,” said Kenny Smith, co-chairman of the event’s planning committee and member of the Southeast Mississippi Homebuilders Association. The reception wil be held on Wednesday, February 6, at the B.E. “Mac” McGinty Civic Center in Pascagoula, from 6 to 8 p.m. Only 1,500 tickets will be available, due to Civic Center capacity. Tickets are $10 each, and will go on sale January 7, at the offices of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce in Pascagoula, and the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce in Ocean Springs. “This will be an informal event,” said co-chairman Joe Martin, ‘with tickets priced at a minimum level only to cover the cost of refreshments. Trent Lott has meant a lot to all of us for decades; and has done more for his fellow Jackson Countians than most of us can imagine.
