Exciting opportunity for five recent graduates in England to be involved in an inspirational education initiative The Aimhigher campaign aims to increase the numbers of young people participating in Higher Education from a diverse range of backgrounds, particularly those from families with no history of going on to Higher Education. A key element of the Aimhigher programme is a roadshow visiting secondary schools and FE colleges. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated roadshow presenters who have the ability to inspire young people about the benefits of Further and Higher Education. Your role would be to travel the country delivering an informative and fast-paced presentation on board a high-tech Aimhigher trailer. A company car will be provided to successful applicants. We are currently looking for a team of motivated graduates to make a real difference to the communities of Oldham and Rochdale. Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale’s unique v challenge volunteer programme is a 13-week placement for graduates aged under 25. The programme provides real project management experience in a variety of areas including community engagement, conservation, youth work and marketing. Job Requirements You must be: • A recent graduate • Self-motivated with an outgoing, energetic personality • Flexible, resourceful and dedicated to making sure the show goes on, come what may! • Experienced or interested in working with young people • A holder of a clean British driving license (desirable but not essential for London candidates) • Available to start on 15 September 2008 for a nine month freelance contract Location Candidates must be: • Happy to stay away from home during the week for a large proportion of the contract period – the job requires a good deal of regional travel • You must be based in or around Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Durham, Sunderland, Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, Bristol or London Please note: • Holidays can only be taken during scheduled school holidays • Since the post involves direct contact with young people, you will be subject to checks by the Criminal Records Office Closing date for applications: 18 July 2008 Successful applicants through to the interview stage will be notified by 1 August 2008. The Department is now seeking a full-time Assistant to provide administrative support to the Senior Business Affairs Executive. Whilst the role is largely administrative with key tasks including filing, diary management and handling of department correspondence, it will give you the opportunity to work within a media business affairs environment, enabling you to develop a good understanding of the contractual and financial processes within film production and distribution. You should have excellent IT and word processing skills, along with significant administrative experience within a professional environment. You must possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills plus an interest in and commitment to the legal profession. The role may suit a post-graduate looking to gain experience within a media business affairs environment before completing a Graduate Diploma in Law or a Legal Practice Course, but please note this is not a paralegal position.
