www.prospects.ac.uk Issue 82 · 10 December 2008 · Fortnightly PROSPECTS GRADUATE 23 Graduate Teaching Assistantships APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANTSHIPS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD, BASED IN ONE OF ITS NINE RESEARCH INSTITUTES. THERE ARE 18 SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE, STARTING IN OCTOBER 2009. Graduate Teaching Assistantships offer students the opportunity to study for a PhD while undertaking teaching duties in areas usually related to their PhD research. Successful candidates will work under the direction of an academic member of staff on a range of teaching activities, up to 180 hours over the academic year (based on an average of six hours each week). The scholarships are worth £13,290 per year (2009-2010 levels) over three years and are available to UK/EU students and, in some disciplines, international students.
