This opportunity, as part of the government’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme, will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to gain experience of working in a high speciﬁcation electro-mechanical research and development environment. It will also offer the successful candidate the opportunity to register for a higher degree such as an MPhil or MSc. Key attributes: Bachelors degree at 2:1 or above in an appropriate scientiﬁc or engineering subject such as Mechanical Engineering, as well as an ambition for spearheading a new development project. Proven capability in the design of mechanical systems and a solid understanding of ﬂuid dynamics is essential. A higher technical degree would be an advantage, as would a relevant industrial placement or other industrial experience. We are currently recruiting for our Subtitling ofﬁce based in West London. Applications are invited from candidates with excellent literacy skills gained through previous experience or through graduate studies. In the case of graduates applying, English, language or linguistics degrees are particularly appropriate. Work is carried out using both voice recognition and keyboarding, therefore touch-typing is essential to an application. Also essential is familiarity with computer software programmes and the ability to adapt to subtitling software. To meet the ever-changing requirements of subtitling, these positions will suit applicants with a genuine interest in all types of television programming, a ﬂexible approach to work and the willingness to cover a variety of shift patterns, to include late evenings, weekends and public holidays.
