The campus is five minutes from the British Museum, and the British Library is a 10-minute walk away. Also within walking distance are the wellknown West End shopping areas of Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Street and Covent Garden. The lively bars, restaurants and clubs of Soho and Chinatown are just down the road, and Theatreland is practically on our doorstep. DIVERSITY There are currently more than 7400 degree students at Birkbeck, nearly half of whom are studying at postgraduate level, and of this 700 are full-time. Our student community is as diverse as London’s population and the mix of ages, backgrounds and occupations make for dynamic discussions in class and a truly cosmopolitan London experience.
