years on the team, they won the Eastern
Championship.
After graduation he stayed at Villanova
to attend its law school. While hitting
the law books, he also refereed water polo
matches. Eventually, he was officiating
matches all over the East coast. Once
he went on the Bench, that involvement
significantly decreased, but he will still
occasionally referee at a tournament. His
water polo experience includes being a
statistician at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
His other sports passion is Villanova
basketball-in a big way! The Judge was
in the arena for both of Villanova's NCAA
championships in 1985 and 2016. A longtime season-ticket holder, he expects to be
in Pittsburgh for the first weekend of the
2018 NCAA Tournament, hopes to be in
Boston for the East Regional the second
weekend and ultimately in San Antonio for
the Final Four.
The Judge has two other interesting
passions. One is TAB, a diet soda
produced by the Coca-Cola Company.
First sold in 1963, the beverage declined in
popularity when Diet Coke was introduced
in 1982; so one can no longer find it in
the neighborhood grocery store. Never
fear; the President Judge still imbibes by
ordering it from Amazon.

Another interest is his collection of
gavels. While he is uncertain as to the exact
number, the collection may include as many
as 100 gavels in different shapes and sizes.
The hobby started when he did not receive
a gavel at the time of his 2002 swearing-in.
Thereafter, receiving one led to receiving
many. The collection actually includes a TAB
soda can with a gavel handle, combining two
of his interests.

Tom and his wife Danelle have six
children, ranging in age from 15 to 27,
and one "adorable" grandchild born in
August.
As one who was an active YLS
member and, more recently, the
coordinator of the Bar Association's "Ask
a Lawyer" show on BCTV, President
Judge Parisi "fully intends to continue
the great relationship we have in Berks
between the Bench and Bar."
