S. Sava Macut, MD
1930 - 2018

The Dauphin County Medical
Society extends its deepest
sympathies to the family and
friends of S. Sava Macut, MD, who
passed away on July 13, 2018. Dr.
Macut graduated from Lebanon
Valley College with a degree in
organic chemistry before attending
Temple Medical School. He had an
internship at Polyclinic Hospital
and then served for two years as
the medical officer at the naval
station in Chaguaramas, Trinidad,
B.W.I. After returning stateside, he
opened a family practice office
in Rutherford Heights. He also
served for many years as the chief
medical officer at the Dauphin
County Home. Dr. Sava had been
a member of the Dauphin County
Medical Society for 59 years.

The Dauphin County Medical
Society extends its condolences to
the family and friends of Dr. James
A. Yates, who passed away on July
17th. Dr. Yates attended Cornell
University and the University of
Maryland Medical College. Over
the course of his career, he served
as Captain in the Army Medical
Corps, President of American
Association for Accreditation
Ambulatory Surgery Facilities,
Chief of Plastic and Aesthetic
Surgery at Holy Spirit Hospital, and
Medical Director of Grandview
Surgery Center. He was a Dauphin
County Medical Society member
for 46 years.
