Chester County Bar Association

Annual Meeting
By Karyn L. Seace, Esquire

remembered, as was John N. DelCollo with Dante W. Renzulli,
Jr. memorializing him.
Joseph N. Ewing, Jr. was honored by Judge Nagle offering his
memories of him.

O

n December 1, 2016, the Chester County Bar
Association and the Chester County Bar Foundation
again jointly held an annual meeting at the historic
courthouse in beautiful courtroom one, which has been
reserved for such functions for the Chester County Bar
Association. Randall C. Schauer emceed the event. Some of
the highlights appear in here. The minutes from last year's
meetings were read and approved, and the Treasurers' and
Presidents' reports were presented. Then there were four
grants presented as follows: Peggy Gusz accepted $5,000.00
on behalf of The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County,
Inc., Dolly Wideman-Scott accepted $5,000.00 on behalf of
the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, Liz Fritsch
accepted a conditional $10,000.00 grant on behalf of Legal Aid
of Southeastern Pennsylvania, and Burroughs Mack accepted
$5,000.00 on behalf of the Family Services of Chester County.
Bradley Blakeman, an attorney from Virginia, came up for
the meeting to give a very special gift to the Bar Association.
As a hobby Mr. Blakeman frequents flea markets and garage
sales looking for old veterans items. He happened upon a
certificate for a Chester County attorney who died in World
War I. He could not remember right away at which booth he
saw the certificate. He did end up going back to try to find
it and he bought it. Then he researched John S. Baldwin and
found out that he was a Chester County attorney. He drove all
the way up from Virginia to donate the certificate to the Bar
Association. Mr. Blakeman will be forever remembered for
providing a good place of honor for the certificate.
With profound sorrow, we said goodbye to the following
attorneys in 2016:
Clarence D. Bell, Jr. was mourned with Judge Royer sharing
stories of what it was like to be her father's daughter. I'm sure
he is very proud of her.
Stephen J. Busterna and Jack Christian Sales were also

William McLaughlin, Jr. was grieved by Elias G. Ganim
memorializing him. They used to be partners in the same firm.
C. Richard Morton had a number of people share special
stories about him. Among those people were: Judge Nagle,
Joseph F. Wusinich, III, K. Denise Morton, Christine E.
Zaccarelli, Janet M. Colliton, Stanley J. Lieberman, Kevin J.
Ryan and others.
J. David Outtrim's wife, Alisa Outtrim, spoke about him. She
was in the audience and mustered up the courage to say a few
words, which we all knew was difficult for her because she was
choking back tears the entire time.
Joseph R. Polito, Jr. was also lamented with Melanie
McAteer, Donald F. Kohler, Stanley J. Lieberman, Joseph
F. Wusinich, III, Jay G. Fischer, and many others offering
personal expressions.
After laughing over the above stories, we were moved to
solemnness when a bagpiper came in and played Amazing
Grace. "How sweet the sound" is an expression that does not
do it justice. It was very moving seeing the player dressed in
the Scottish kilt and everything.
Following the meeting, there was a party at which the
Chester County Paralegal Association held a wine bottle grab
bag. The money earned benefitted Legal Aid of Southern
Chester County.
Karyn L. Seace, of Nescio & Seace, LLP, is a certified elder
law attorney who limits her areas of practice to: elder law,
Medicaid, Medicare, tax law, special needs, estate planning, and
estate administration, with an office at 113 East Evans Street,

Elder Law Attorneys and the Pennsylvania Association of Elder
Law Attorneys. She is Co-Chair of the Chester County Bar
Association's Elder Law Section.
