President's Message

SOMETHING
FOR EVERYONE
Welcome from the Chester County Bar Association!

I am truly honored to serve as President of our Association in 2017 and I am looking
forward to a great year. Bill Wilson, our Immediate Past President, wrote in his last President's
Message about what he loves about our Bar Association. As I was reading his article I
thought it was a great lead in to the focus of my year as
President...SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE! When
I started thinking about what I was going to say at the
Annual Meeting and how I was going to introduce
the focus of my year, I asked myself... what's my
"SOMETHING" at the CCBA? What I cherish most are
the amazing friendships that I have after fifteen years as
a member. I met some of my best friends at the first few
YLD meetings I attended in 2002 and just got back from
the trip of a lifetime in Italy with a few of them. My
"SOMETHING" also includes the community support

that the CCBA provides, first to their tremendous
support of the work we do at Legal Aid of Southeastern President), George D'Ambrosia, Esq.,
and P.J. Gallo, Esq. (YLD Chair),
PA. But also through their support of the YLD Mock
participated in our Birth Certificate
Trial Program, the Law Related Education program
Program assisting dozens of Chester
and the numerous community events such as Alex's
County citizens to obtain a
Lemonade Stand, Habitat for Humanity and our Birth
birth certificate.

At our Annual Meeting in early December I invited everyone to join me in having some
fun this year and I will further extend that invitation to find your "something" at the CCBA. I
know how important our association is to so many people so I asked around to find out what
keeps our members coming back to our association. Here's what they had to say:
KIM COX, ESQUIRE, a long time CCBA member and attorney at Cox & Bishay, LLC
here in West Chester, said, "I admire the fact that our Bar Association never stops trying
to improve upon itself. The consistent desire to serve our members and our community
makes me proud to be a member."
BARRY RABIN, ESQUIRE, a solo practitioner at The Law Firm of Barry Rabin in
Downingtown, wrote, "As a solo attorney whose office isn't located in West Chester, I
tend to feel very isolated at times. I also sometimes feel like I'm the only one dealing
with some of the stresses and challenges I face on a daily basis in practice. Getting
together with other county lawyers at the CCBA makes me feel like I'm not in
this alone!"
