LEAGUE
RESUMES
Yelling 'fore' is simply a shorter way to yell watch
out ahead (or watch out before). It allows golfers
to be forewarned.
April. Not for the triscadecaphobic, but on these cold winter
days it is reassuring to know that the DCBA Golf League
begins the 13th season of the Alan I. Rosenberg Memorial,
Thursday evening, 9 holes Golf League. Play will resume
Thursday afternoons starting April 19th with tee times
starting at 4:30 PM sharp (1st tee times will be later as the
days become longer)! Mark your summer 2018 calendar and
plan to join fellow DCBA members almost every Thursday
afternoon at the beautiful Paxon Hollow Golf Course in
Marple Township. Players of ALL experience levels are
welcome - only good fellowship necessary.
Last year, after many of no change, Marple Township
raised the rate for each Thursday's nine hole round by ONE
dollar to $31.00; in 2018 the 9 hole league rate is up again
by 1$ ($32). Seeking symmetry, our annual League Dues
for 2018 will also be $32.00. Every week will continue to
feature a closest to the Pin contest and the winner plays free
the following week. Dan Malley, Paxon Hollow's PGA
Professional, is again offering our league members the perk of
a USGA Handicap at a discounted rate - A Paxon Handicap
enables you to access all GAP events - opportunities to
play other great local courses! A key component and DCBA
tradition is pizza & beers together after each round at Paxon
Hollow's Anthony's Restaurant. Other excellent menu items
are also available for purchase at Anthony's. *
