Delco Special ... Vince Papale, Athlete,
Teacher, Motivational Speaker, Author.
Some of Hollywood's most inspirational
movies were born from the world of
sports. In 2006, Walt Disney Pictures
continued their triumphant tradition of
motivating sports stories with the release
of "Invincible." It is a stirring football
drama starring Mark Wahlberg as Vince
Papale, who against all odds, went from
a fan sitting in the stands to the gridiron.
Vince achieved his lifelong dream and
played for the Philadelphia Eagles. It
was a time when Philadelphia fans were
buried in 11 years of defeat. Vince instantly
electrified the fans and eventually won
over his skeptical teammates with his
commitment to the game. Vince helped
the Eagles rediscover their winning ways playing wide receiver
and on special teams. He was voted Special Teams Captain by
his teammates, earning Eagles "Man of the Year" in 1978 for
his numerous charitable activities. Vince continues to hold the
record for being the oldest rookie in the National Football League
(kickers excluded). He was recently honored by the Eagles and
their fans and was named "Most Outstanding Special Teams
Player" during a celebration of the Philadelphia Eagles 75th
anniversary.

Authors Dennis Franks and Vince Papale team up again and
release their new book, Last Laugh: Vision to Victory. As former
Philadelphia Eagles teammates, both Papale and Franks were
"underdogs" long before the term became popularly associated
with their team. Both were told they would never make it in
the NFL - Franks was "too short" and Papale was "too old."
The book incorporates the lessons learned by both authors, as
against-all-odds players in their successful athletic careers and
through the challenges that they faced in business after hanging
up their helmets. Featured in their book is The Victor Code which
encompasses the "V" principles of vision, vehemence, vitality,

valor, veracity, vigor, and victory. According
to the book's publicity, "It's the force that took
two underdogs to the top of their game, both
on the football field and in the boardroom."

IN FABRIC, SEQUINS &
FEATHERS ...
The Jimmy May Sway!
Designer James May has been in
the manufacturing business for over 50
years, carving a career out of creating and
manufacturing fashion. From his humble
roots in Ridley Township, May made
himself part of the Philadelphia 'fabric'
with thousands and thousands of costumes
that were showcased on Broad Street in
Philadelphia for the annual Mummer's Day
Parade. At one point, May was creating and manufacturing outfits
for more than half of the parade, winning 'Best Costume' awards
on every level of the grading system.
Recently, out of retirement with the excitement of all
Philadelphians on the way to Super Bowl LII, in true May
fashion, he felt compelled to create something, so he created
'King of the Under Dogs'. And then, history intervened and
found one of his '10-year-old costume creations" riding, walking
and biking down Broad Street Philadelphia, in the Championship
Parade creating a 'Moment in Time'.
Now sharing a 'Moment in Time' ... The Championship hats,
produced locally in the USA, exclusively at James May Designs
manufacturing studio located in Ridley Township, Pennsylvania,
are hand crafted as a visual sign of the passion of a true Philly
fan. Capture this "Moment in Time" as an everyday fan or
collector. With pride for his love of mummery, Philadelphia
and traditions, May releases The 2018 Championship Hat for
fans to celebrate the underdog. Take advantage of this exclusive
opportunity to celebrate the City of Philadelphia's newly
recognized 'Championship Status'.
