Annual Mother's Day
Tradition Continues in York

he 42nd Annual Olde York Street Fair will be held in
Downtown York, in and around Continental Square, on
Sunday, May 14, 2017, from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. All are
invited to attend this free event.

More than 100 arts and craft vendors will feature handmade gift
items for sale, and new exhibitors this year include a few local
authors. Food vendors will sell traditional American festival food
as well as original creations. All food vendors donate a portion of
their sales to area non-profit organizations.
A Kid's Fun Block will feature a variety of inflatables, carnival
games, face painting, and other entertainment. Ticket sales for the
inflatables in the Kid's Fun Block will support York City Special
Events. Entomologist Ryan Bridge (The Bug Man) will also again
have his vast collection on display for kids of all ages to see and
touch!

Several stages near Continental Square will feature live entertainment in a variety of genres, and strolling entertainers will delight
festival-goers.

Tented "rest stop seating" areas will be located throughout the
Street Fair for the convenience of guests, thanks to a grant
from the Hahn Home Fund of the York County Community
Foundation.
Free parking and shuttle bus service from HACC York will be
offered again this year as a community service for those unfamiliar
with driving and parking Downtown.
The American Red Cross will again hold a blood drive in conjunction with the Olde York Street Fair (11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.), outside
the Historical Society Museum in the 200 block of East Market
Street. About an hour is all it takes to make a blood donation; in
that time, you can help save three lives! To schedule your appointment, please call 800-RED-CROSS or visit www.redcross.org and
select Donate Blood. Walk-ins welcome, but appointments take
precedence.
