The Strand Capitol Performing
Arts Center is ringing in a new era
as the Appell Center for the Performing Arts with an inaugural
performance by long-time music
legend, Tony Bennett.
In December 2016, the Strand Capitol announced it will be renaming the organization in honor of the late Louis J. Appell Jr.
and the Appell family's multi-generational
commitment to keeping a passion for the
performing arts alive in Downtown York.
Tickets for the Tony Bennett performance
sold out quickly, but the soon-to-be Appell
Center for the Performing Arts will be celebrating with an entire weekend of events
for all ages throughout the complex from
May 5 to May 7.
