Downtown York Fall/Holiday 2017 - 29

Isaac's on the fly brings traditional Isaac's favorites at a faster
pace - eliminating booth and table services found at regular
Isaac's locations.
Many thought when Isaac's on the fly opened on West Market
Street, the Lancaster-based sandwich chain might stick out -
even more than the brightly colored logo with the pink flamingo
already does. However, the company believes that won't be the
case.
"We're not just trying to be there on the corner, we want to be a
part of the community, just like we are at the other 18 locations,"
Mike Weaver, Isaac's CEO, says.
The company has eyed Downtown York for a long time, according to Weaver. Current Isaac's restaurants in the York area have
always performed well and the company was actively looking
for something in the city, Weaver said.
Last summer, the company found an opportunity that was too
good to pass up.
As a corner space with large windows and natural light, the
former Weinbrom building at the corner of South Beaver and
West Market Streets was the location Isaac's was looking for.
Beyond its great sight lines, Weaver said the property goes
beyond the home of a new restaurant.
"This is a project that we can feel good about," Weaver says.
"We came here, in part, because we want to be part of the revitalization of York and when you can recreate historical elements
of architecture that are beautiful, it gives Downtown character
and makes it beautiful."

"It's a vibe unlike any you've seen at our other restaurants,"
Gannett says.
"Customers at an on the fly will order their food at the counter
and be able to take it to go, or sit at one of the tables in the
restaurant. Catering for any business or party event will be available as well. And we deliver!"
The express model is one of several company variations on its
stores. An Isaac's Bar & Grill, which serves alcohol, opened in
downtown Lancaster a few years ago while another location in
Harrisburg will be converted to that format later this year. While
the York model won't be able to sell alcohol, it does have a
BYOB option.
In addition, on the fly will be open for breakfast, only the second
location company-wide to do so. "We have fresh ground
coffee and Espresso as well as House Made Cold Brew coffee.
Our breakfast sandwiches are unique, fresh and taste amazing,"
says Gannett.
"These various formats offer us flexibility to adapt the model to
the real estate and local demographics," adds Weaver. "We
believe the express model is a perfect fit for Downtown York."

"We are excited to be Downtown and be partners with this
community," David Gannett, on the fly General Manager, adds.
"We want more people to come Downtown and experience all
the great restaurants and shops. There is so much to offer.
We will be the first "express model" store in the company."
