At the 2016 Premier Print Award held
in Orlando, Florida, The Standard
Group recently accepted two Bennys,
the highest honor, for its Countdown Celebration Holiday Promotion and Fig
Lancaster Holiday Magazine.

The Good Life Companies, Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, was named winners of the
2016 Best and Brightest Companies to Work ForĀ® in the Nation by the National
Association of Business Resources (NABR). Of the 1700 applicants, The Good Life
Companies was one of 346 recognized as 2016 Best and Brightest Companies to

Clint Matthews, President and CEO of Reading
Health System, was named to the Becker's Hospital
Review list of "135 Nonprofit Hospital and Health
System CEOs to Know" in 2016.

Certified public accounting firm Herbein +
Company, Inc., announced the acquisition of
Michael L. Cross & Company, Ltd., a certified
public accounting firm which has served the greater Pottstown, PA region since
1982. All current members of Michael L. Cross & Company, Ltd. will join Herbein
+ Company, Inc., and continue practicing from the same Pottstown office with the
added resources of Herbein.

The Rose Corporation, a privately owned contract
manufacturing steel fabrication company, is pleased
to announce that it has become a sister company to
Abbott Furnace, St. Mary's, Pennsylvania, effective
December 1, 2016. Having been purchased by the same owner, Edmund Gaffney,
of Haverford, PA, both Rose and Abbott will continue to operate independent of
each other but joining capabilities to enhance offerings to their current customers
and opportunities for the growth of both entities. The Rose Corporation, also doing
business as Mark Metals, currently employs 52 and Abbott employs 70.
Berks County entrepreneurs and owners of
Comfort Keepers - Berks County, Dave
Kendall and Jennifer Mish, were recently
awarded the "Operational Excellence" award
by CK Franchising, Inc., the franchiser of Comfort Keepers. The award was
announced during the Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony at the Comfort Keepers
Leadership Conference in Henderson, NV.
TRIOSE Inc., a non-asset based nationwide
healthcare logistics management firm, has
been named one of Philadelphia SmartCEO's
2017 Future 50 Award winners for the fourth consecutive year. TRIOSE's Chief
Executive Officer Carl "CJ" Joyner and President Ira Tauber will accept the
company's award on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at an awards gala at Drexelbrook,
Drexel Hill, PA in the presence of 500 local business executives and guests.
Weidenhammer, a provider of strategy, marketing,
and technology solutions that focuses on
transforming businesses, has announced that they
have reached an agreement to acquire Praxis Information Science, an influential
and innovative e-commerce firm, based in Austin, Texas. This acquisition positions
Weidenhammer as a major provider of e-commerce solutions and the provision of
services around the Magento e-commerce platform.
The Greater Berks Development Fund has announced
that Levan Machine Co., Inc. was approved for a
$449,723 loan from the Pennsylvania Industrial
Development Authority (PIDA). This loan will
assist in the expansion of the company's facility located at 3417 Pricetown Road,
Fleetwood, PA. The PIDA loan will provide part of the financing for the construction
of a new building that will contain 8,360 square feet and includes three bays for
truck work, as well as an office and storage facilities.
Over the last holiday season, The Loomis
Company teamed up with Big Brothers Big
Sisters of Berks County to bring some holiday
cheer to their young ones and make their
Christmas one to remember. There was an overwhelming response from the
employees and they were able to fulfill all 50 ornaments with Christmas Spirit!

Reading Truck Group has announced that it
has acquired substantially all of the assets of
Caseco Manufacturing, Inc. and its affiliates.
Caseco, a current Reading distributor, is a
well-established regional manufacturer and upfitter of service utility truck bodies
and service crane bodies, with four facilities located in Oklahoma and Missouri. With
the addition of Caseco, the number of Reading's distribution and upfitting sites
increases to 10 facilities in 8 states.

Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ), is pleased to
announce that local company Continental Tide Defense Systems, Inc. has been
awarded tax credits in the amount of $82,585 from the Department of Community
and Economic Development.

Tompkins VIST Bank has announced that it has
committed $267,750 in 2016-2017 donations to
youth education organizations that qualify under
the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. The amount
is an increase of $2,750 over the 2015-2016 donation and is the most the bank
has donated since participating in EITC. The bank made its first 2017 donation for
$10,000 to the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry for its program to
help youth develop workforce skills for the future.
