SPRING 2018 President's Message W elcome to the spring issue of Lancaster Physician magazine. The Medical Society enjoys the opportunity this publication provides for bringing relevant local medical information to the Lancaster physician community, and we encourage feedback from our members. Your ideas and contributions to the magazine are critical to its continued success. In light of the recent tragedies involving mass shootings in our country, I am confident physicians would agree that the availability and success of behavioral health services is one critical element in our nation's efforts to find long-term solutions to control violence and keep our communities safe. The Perspectives section on behavioral health services (across all health systems) should be of particular interest to all of us. Please pay close attention to the legislature and regulatory updates as ongoing LCCMS and Pennsylvania Medical Society advocacy is a key component of our mission to support the practice of medicine.
