HELP ADULTS INCREASE
HEALTHY EATING.
Specifically, encourage families to avoid
sugar-sweetened beverages and focus on
water and low-fat milk intake; provide
primarily low calorically dense foods (e.g.,
vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean meats,
legumes); and limit high-calorie foods
(e.g., fat-rich meats, fried foods, baked
goods). Additionally, families should be
encouraged to eat together and avoid
skipping meals, particularly breakfast.
